Beginner's Guide

What is Baccarat?

Baccarat is one of the most elegant and straightforward casino games. Despite its sophisticated reputation, it's pretty simple to learn and play. The goal is to predict which hand will have a total closest to 9: the Player's or the Banker's hand.

Basic Rules

Card Values

  • Aces = 1 point

  • Cards 2-9 = Face value

  • 10s, Jacks, Queens, Kings = 0 points

How Scoring Works

  • Add up the card values in each hand

  • If the total is more than 9, only the last digit counts

  • Example: 7 + 6 = 13, but the hand value is 3

Types of Bets Available

Our platform offers 5 different betting options:

1. Player Bet (1.95x payout)

  • Bet that the Player hand will win

  • Pays 2:1 if you win

2. Banker Bet (1.95x payout)

  • Bet that the Banker's hand will win

  • Pays 1.95:1 if you win (slightly lower due to better odds)

3. Tie Bet (9.00x payout)

  • Bet that both hands will have the same value

  • Pays 9:1 if you win (rare but high payout)

4. Player Pair Bet (12.00x payout)

  • Bet that the Player's first two cards will be the same number

  • Pays 12:1 if you win

5. Banker Pair Bet (12.00x payout)

  • Bet that the Banker's first two cards will be the same number

  • Pays 12:1 if you win

How a Hand is Played

Initial Deal

  1. The Player gets 2 cards

  2. The Banker gets 2 cards

  3. All cards are dealt face up

Drawing Rules (Automatic)

The game follows strict rules for when a third card is drawn:

Player Rules:

  • If the Player total is 0-5: draws a third card

  • If the Player total is 6-7: stands (no third card)

  • If the Player total is 8-9: "Natural" - no more cards

Banker Rules:

  • If the Banker's total is 0-2: always draws a third card

  • If the Banker total is 3-6: drawing depends on the Player's third card

  • If the Banker total is 7: always stands

  • If Banker total is 8-9: "Natural" - no more cards

Don't worry about memorizing these rules - they're handled automatically!

Winning Conditions

  • Player Wins: Player's hand total is closer to 9

  • Banker Wins: The Banker's hand total is closer to 9

  • Tie: Both hands have the same total

  • Pair Wins: The first two cards of the chosen side are the same number

Strategy Tips for Beginners

1. Understand the Odds

  • Banker bet: Best odds (wins slightly more often)

  • Player bet: Nearly as good as Banker

  • Tie bet: High payout but very low probability

  • Pair bets: Fun side bets with big payouts but low odds

2. Betting Strategy

  • Start with Player or Banker bets as a beginner

  • The Banker has a slight statistical advantage

  • Avoid Tie and Pair bets until you're comfortable with the basics

  • You can bet on multiple outcomes in the same round

3. Bankroll Management

  • Set a budget before you start playing

  • The platform has built-in wager limits based on available funds

  • Don't chase losses with bigger bets

Sample Round

Your Bets:

  • Player: $10

  • Banker: $5

  • Player Pair: $2

Cards Dealt:

  • Player: 7♠, 7♥ (Total: 4, also a pair!)

  • Banker: 6♣, 2♦ (Total: 8)

Result:

  • Banker wins (8 beats 4)

  • Player Pair wins (7♠ and 7♥ match)

Payouts:

  • Player bet: $0 (lost)

  • Banker bet: $5 × 1.95 = $9.75

  • Player Pair bet: $2 × 12 = $24

Total won: $33.75 from $17 wagered!

Remember

  • Baccarat is a game of chance - no skill can influence the cards

  • The house always has a slight edge, so play responsibly

  • Start small while learning the game

  • Have fun and enjoy the excitement!
